PV Level 1

Photovoltaic Class is a 40 to 60 hour course with not only the theory but it includes a hands-on complete system installation. This will qualify you take the NABC EP entry level exam. The PV training will include theory, NEC requirements, OSHA’s requirements, and hands-on training with the most up to date components. The hands-on training modules will include four typical installations. 

  • System #1: This system is a permanent grid tie installation with battery back-up for specific loads demonstrating the use of single string inverters. 
  • System #2: This system is designed for classroom use to explore the relationship between crystalline solar panels and micro-inverters. 
  • System #3: A pole mounted grid tied installation. 
  • System # 4: Mock roof mounting installation.

NECA & IBEW Local 90 JATC is offering a Photovoltaic weekday course.

This 40 hour course with not only cover the theory but it includes complete hands-on system installations. The PV training will include theory, NEC requirements, OSHA’s requirements, and hands-on training with the most up to date components. The hands-on training modules will include four typical installations. These systems cover roof, ballasted roof, ground, and pole mount installations.

 Upon successful completion of the course the NABCEP (North American Board of Certified Energy Practitioners) Entry Level Exam will be administered. This is the minimum level of training required CEFIA for approved contractors.

 

Hands-on Labs Include:

 

  • System #1: This system is a permanent grid tie installation with battery back-up for specific loads demonstrating the use of single string inverters.
